“We have no connections to a particular church - can we still get married there?”

We’d like to help you find a way to marry in your special church. There are seven ways in which you can be connected to a church and by having just one connection to a particular church, enables your wedding to take place there. Read more.

If you have no connections to a particular church, one option is to create a connection by going along to its usual services for six months. Being present in services just once a month for that period of time would be enough to secure a connection. After that, your Vicar can secure your wedding date, and you can have your banns read at the church, which takes another couples of months or so to sort out before the wedding.

Going to your special church like this makes time for you to get to know the Vicar and the people there. So as well as connecting you to the church legally, it can make your big day all the more meaningful through the personal connections you make.
