Stuart and Vivien Mckay, who married at St John’s Community church, Burntwood, said they saved hundreds of pounds by having their reception in the church.

Stuart said: “The Vicar, Duncan Leake, suggested a reception in the church, which we thought was really different.

"The service from the congregation, who set it all up and helped our guests with the buffet, was so friendly - better than you’d get in a hotel in my opinion.

"It was just excellent from start to finish. I was very impressed, and we must have saved hundreds by not taking the hotel option.”
